VICA 4x2 Carport – Photovoltaic Carport for 8 Cars with 60 PV Panels

The VICA 4x2 Carport is a VICA structure designed to accommodate 8 parking spaces and support the installation of 60 PV panels. All parking spaces are arranged within one continuous structure, creating a unified parking area integrated with a photovoltaic installation.

The carport is suitable for company parking lots, corporate vehicle fleets, medium-sized hotels and large residential communities. A single structure allows for a PV installation capacity of 24–30 kWp, combining vehicle shelter with solar electricity generation and reducing the need for separate construction projects.

Structural Strength and Load Parameters

The structure is designed to withstand the following loads:

• Wind speed: up to 28 m/s (100.8 km/h)

• Snow load: up to 1.6 kN/m² (approximately 163 kg/m²)

These parameters cover most locations in Poland and EU countries, excluding high-mountain areas and immediate coastal strips.

The structure is manufactured in execution class EXC2, confirmed by the EN 1090-1 certificate supplied with the structure.

Technical Specifications

Materials and Corrosion Protection

The structure is manufactured from S350GD steel profiles with a minimum yield strength of 350 MPa.

The steel is protected with a double-sided Magnelis ZM310 coating containing zinc, 3.5% aluminium and 3% magnesium, manufactured by ArcelorMittal.

Magnelis is claimed to provide approximately 3 times the corrosion resistance of conventional hot-dip galvanizing. The magnesium content supports a self-healing mechanism at cut edges.

The coating performs well in chloride-rich environments, such as areas exposed to road salt or coastal atmospheres, as well as in ammonia-rich environments, including farms and livestock facilities.

The fasteners are made of A2-70 stainless steel. The structure is designed for decades of use with reduced maintenance requirements.
